JETSETREPORT

Our favorite places in springtime in Sydney

November 18, 2013 02.11 PM

We dream of this time of year in Sydney, that weather that alludes of summer to come with the occasional rainy afternoon reminders of the winter that’s passed. While some opt for the luxury of Park Hyatt or designer style of QT Hotel, on longer visits to the city we prefer an apartment in Surrey Hills or perhaps Bondi that allows for exploring gourmet markets like Fratelli Fresh or the Sydney Fish Market while getting to know a real neighborhood over and over again by foot.

We daydream of weekend brunch at the Sydney Rowing Club or inside Chiswick at nearby Woollahra. Our perfect day would windup at an outdoor bar like Opera Bar come afternoon with its dapper 4pm office crowd or at the Establishment Bar where we’d sit out a rain shower with an iced Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc in hand.

Despite this thoroughly beach fantasy, for dinner we want the full foodie experience whether it's the incredible gaucho-style meats of Porteno or farm-to-table masterpiece that is the timeless Sean’s Panorama. And should a little of the day still be left to have in this dream, we’d dance poolside at The Ivy or in a hidden corner of Eau de Vie as Lou Dillon anthems take you to yet another place.
